Commerce Association

The Commerce Association offers a platform that integrates academic knowledge with practical experience, fostering skill enhancement and personal development to support students’ success. 

The following activities and programs were organised for the year academic2024-25 
1)Advaya-New Product Launch – “From Classroom to Marketplace” 

The event was organized on October 7th 2024 with the objective of enhancing students’ practical skills in areas such as new product development, strategic planning, and advertising. It provided a platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios by conceptualizing, designing, and promoting innovative products, thereby fostering entrepreneurial thinking and market-oriented approaches. 

2)Vikaplana – Commerce Theme Display Competition

Vikaplana was organized as a display competition focusing on various commerce-related themes. It aimed to enhance students’ creativity and subject knowledge through visual presentations. The event also promoted the effective use of notice boards as a medium for academic expression and awareness. 

3)Industrial Visit

Association organized an industrial visit to SRR Industries Pvt. Ltd.  Mangalore on October 25 2024. This visit aims to give students a firsthand understanding of industrial operations, production processes, and the latest technologies used in the industry. It offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical knowledge that complements their academic learning. The visit will help bridge the gap between theory and real-world industrial applications, enhancing their overall educational experience. 

4)Bizhustle Day

BizHustle Day was organized on February 25 2025, on the occasion of the college’s sports day. Students set up stalls where they learned valuable skills such as setting competitive prices, attracting customers, and understanding market trends. The event also provided a hands-on opportunity to enhance teamwork, improve communication skills, and develop practical business strategies in a real-world environment. 

5)Fest participation

  • Aloysius fest 2024 

Final B.Com C students participated in a national-level intercollegiate fest held at Aloysius College, Mangalore. Mr.Aditya and Mr.Nevil won  the prize in the quiz competition. 

Poornadvitha

On 7th March 2025, 13 students participated in an inter-college level Management, IT, and Cultural Fest held  at Poorna Prajana College Ussssdupi  

  • Poornam 

On 29th  March 2025, 4 students participated in an inter-collegiate fest  held  at Poornaprajana college Udupi . 

Vistara-Grow ,Thrive and Excel

Vistara Commerce Fest, an inter-class competition, was held on 17th April 2025 to empower students with a dynamic platform that enhances their knowledge, creativity, and teamwork through a variety of engaging events. The fest was inaugurated by Mr. Padmanabh Kanchan , Chartered Accountant and proud alumnus of our institution, adding great value and inspiration to the occasion. 

The event lineup included quiz competitions, model making, collage creation, ice-breaking , and Glimpses—each thoughtfully designed to nurture essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation. These are key traits needed to thrive in today’s competitive world. 

Vistara promised not just learning, but also unforgettable memories and a motivating peek into the world of commerce and beyond. 

Commerce DAY

Commerce Day was held on 19th April 2025 to celebrate the day and bring B.Com students together. Apart from academics, there were fun games and entertainment put on by the students themselves. It was a lively and inspiring event where everyone got to connect, showcase their talents, and enjoy being part of the commerce community! 

Workshop and training

Mrs. Tweeny Maria Rodrigues, Mrs. Vanitha Shetty, Mrs. Asha T.K and Mr. Ashwin Shetty attended a workshop on I Semester SEP Courses of B.Com programme on 17th Aug, 2024 organised by MUCTA in collaboration with Beasant Women’s College, Mangalore 

Mrs. Sumalatha, Mrs. Asha T.K, Mr. Vignesh Padiyar and Mr. Prashanth Devadiga attended a workshop on II Semester SEP Courses of B.Com programme on 22nd Feb,2025 organised by MUCTA in collaboration with Beasant Women’s College, Mangalore. 

Mr. Ashwin Shetty and Mr Prashanth Devadiga attended two days fire and safety training at fire station Kadri, Mangalore on 19th  and 20th Feb ,2025 

Swayam examination

 A total of 13 students from II B.Com and III B.Com have demonstrated their academic excellence and dedication by clearing the SWAYAM Examination, an initiative by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education to promote digital learning. The students who successfully completed the examination are: 

Chandra, Sudarshan, Sneha, Trisha, Vaishali, Sanjana, Rashmi  and Janvi from III B.Com A 

Adithya and Abhisheka from III B.Com C 

Akhilesh,Navya K and Nikitha from II B.Com A 

Commerce Department, Placement Cell and HRD Cell  in association with Unnathi Foundation, successfully organized a 30-day Skill Development Workshop for the final year B.Com students. The workshop was held from 14th March 2025 to 15th  April 2025, with a total of 21 students actively participating and successfully completing the program. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Guruprasad Bhat, from Unathi foundation. The workshop focused on enhancing employability skills and preparing students for the job market through a series of interactive and practical sessions. 

CA and CS Report 2024–25

On 23rd July 2024, the college inaugurated classes for the CA and CS Foundation courses for the academic year 2024–25. The event was graced by Mr. Nagesh, Company Secretary and founder of V-Reach Academy, Udupi. He delivered an insightful session highlighting the importance of CA and CS programs in shaping a successful professional career. 

During the academic year, 11 students enrolled in the CA Foundation course and 10 students enrolled in the CS Foundation course. These students are scheduled to appear for their respective foundation examinations next month. 

The academic year also marked a significant achievement with three students from the previous batch successfully clearing the CA Foundation examination: Thanuja and Rashmitha of III B.Com ‘C’, and Srushti of II B.Com ‘B’

Academic Excellence

In the 2024-25 university examination department achieved a pass percentage of 65% in I sem, 81% in III sem and 95% in V sem.  

A total of 15 students have demonstrated remarkable excellence by scoring a perfect 100/100 in various core subjects of their curriculum.
